HELP! very low fps

anyone experienced sudden low fps ingame? it was used to be ok, high fps/smooth. I have noticed it start lagging on character selection when character sprites load and continues in games. help please.

my specs.
intel i5 3470 3.2Ghz
8GB RAM
GTX 750 Ti vCard.
1tb HDD

Couple things i would try if i were you:
1) Do a disk clean up (right click the drive and click properties, you should find an option to do this there)
2) Check for any malicious software you may have and get rid of it.

It is a bit odd that someone with those specs would lag in the char selection screen of a game as dated as this.

I have a similar build but don't experience lag, try defragging some %#!@, or just mess with the setup, make sure it's selected to your gpu and try turning /effect off.

i play with /effect off and /lightmap off
