Suggestion Current Server Situation

Good day. It has been several weeks since the server has officially opened. Looking ahead, it's high time that we discuss about what's been happening to the server, especially its economy and community.

As it currently stands, the server is no longer 'Newbie-Friendly' due to the high demand of Donation Credits and it being the primary currency in trading. It currently isn't a controllable situation and without the staff taking action, the economy would incur more damages in the long run. The staff has been trying to avoid any 'pay to win' situations however, the current situation had already developed into an actual pay-to-win case. The players who have been demanding DCs to trade for items are not to blame, and we should also recognize that people cannot force others to buy or sell using zeny as currency. If you don't have DCs, then you should be responsible in purchasing or getting one.

This being the case, people who frequently donate to the server have the actual advantage in getting what they need, compared to the people who don't donate at all. It's vital that the staff recognize the current status of the server and do something about it. There are many ways in resolving these concerns without imposing anything, and there are a lot of people who suggest various ideas in improving the server. Despite that, without any person in charge to acknowledge these suggestions, nor communicating two-way with these people, there won't be any improvements at all.

Another major concern related to it is that the newbie players have diminishing access to cards to gear up their characters. A lot of people have been asking this question: "Where do we get DC?", and everyone here recognizes that there are only 2 major ways of getting it. It's either they donate or they purchase it from other players. There has been a decreasing rate of people who are willing to sell DC, and these newbies will end up being hopeless because they lack progress in our server. The primary way to progress is to play Battlegrounds, and gear up with the available equipment redeemed using War Badges. But their prices have been continuously decreasing and with the sheer number of these gears that the players have gathered, it is very difficult for newbies to sell them at all.

Might as well do something about it if you want the population to increase, and for the server to prosper.

Thank you for giving your time in reading this wall of text, and further suggestions and feedback would be very helpful and much appreciated.

Why do people hide who they are when posting things like this?

Hello, Touhou.

I have my own reasons for that. But the sole purpose of this post is to:

1.) Raise awareness for the staff, since I am unsure whether some, if not all the staff members have enough time to asses the current situation of the server, or whether the Community Leaders are responsible enough to relay all these critical issues for the appreciation of the staff. We all understand that many of these people are busy enough, that they only spend their free time in the game for their enjoyment.

2.) Gain the opportunity to have a productive discussion, since many of these players only relay their insights in-game, and are lazy enough to post threads in the forums. It's to invite people to actually share their ideas and be empowered to say their thoughts here.

3.) Server development, such as increase in population and development in the community, as well as to discover innovative ways that contribute to the continuous prosperity of the server.

I totally get why you made the post, discussion is good, I just don't get why people feel the need to hide who they are.

I don't know the reason why other people do it. I just do it to stand in a neutral position. When you get linked to a certain guild, people will actually think you are sharing insights mostly for the benefit of one or two guilds instead of capturing the entirety of the server.

* Fix DC price ( Sell DC on NPC )
1. ( ex.DC=200M on NPC ) that would limit sellers to Over-Price.
2. it will help newbies to gear-up by just farming.

Actually, NPC will not solve the issues.
NPC buying DC will not fix it. I mean, take cards - you can sell them all to NPC and they still dont cost 10-20 zeny.
Now, if there is an NPC selling DC for zeny, this will only produce inflation, thats all - the offer of stuff you can by with DC from NPC is rather limited, so real value will still be defined by the player market.

Yap inflation just to control DC price getting high, to help newbies because they farm all night and get couple of DC's?

There should be a specific zenny npc like what other currencies have./?

Zenny Shop Items Lists:

• Costume Headgears - 3,000,000,000 each
• All X Items - 4,000,000,000 each
• Box Of panting Box [100] - 100,000,000 each
• Speed Potion Box [100] - 100,000,000 each
• Battle Ground Items cost - 1,000,000,000 each
• Mini-Game-Credits - 450,000,000 each
• Event Credits - 25,000,000,000 each
• Legacy Credits - 25,000,000,000 each
• Donation Credits - 30,000,000,000 each

I guess these list will not get into inflation :) Btw, this is just an example :) peace! /no1

I somewhat disagree, rather than zeny, I would go for time consuming quests.
Why? There are basically 2 ways of making zeny - you either sell expensive stuff like cards and gears (that are already in high demand) or farm stuff like gold, kukri or poison bottles or whatever people farm these days. The number of maps where those can be farmed is fairly limited, which means they will get way too crowded.
Now, if you have quests that require you to turn in, lets say, 20k items (for example, 1k of 20 different items for a quest), it will kinda force people to farm in different places, which offers somewhat better gameplay than when whole server camps on 5 maps.

While this does not empowers zeny as currency, it is still an option for ungeared players since most stuff can be farmed with no gear at all.

But it will be literally same.
Suppose (making up numbers here), xripper, which is worth lets say 13 DC right now, while 1DC is 200.000.000 zeny.
Now, suppose you make an NPC that sells DC at 100.000.000 zeny. Are you sure that DC will not suffer inflation, and the same xripper will not be worth 26 DC quite soon, which means literally same amount of time to farm?

After considering the views and ideas of many of the players here, these are some thoughts to think about. These can also be useful information for the newbies out there.

Donation Credits (DC): These can be exchanged for DC exclusive items and equipment from the Item Redeeming Services NPC in amatsu, and can only be obtained via donating to the server. They can be traded to other players. However, these are resources that play a vital role to the server management. Donations are meant to keep the server running. It mainly contributes to the following:
  • Ensuring that its hosting is adequate enough to provide a 24/7 server operations, that is crash-free and has a defense system against DDOS and other forms of cyber attacks, while providing the best possible ping in general for all the players in its population.
  • It contributes to the resources for server upgrades, and any other costs that may be needed for further server improvements.
  • Keeping the server alive for a longer period in time, in terms of hosting costs and other costs vital to running the server.

Zeny: In-game currency. It has the following significance and concerns:
  • It is used for purchasing the following: 'supplies', items that are required for skill use, items that are needed in MVP hunting, forging, or basic equipment that are purchasable in the current NPCs within the server.
  • It is the main currency that are readily available for newbies, and the alternative resources that can be easily farmed by everyone.
  • It is flexible, since it can be converted into an in-game item called 'Bank Notes' which can be stored and traded, or can be directly deposited in zeny form via the player's bank (pressing CTRL+B), and do take note that a player cannot hold more than 2 Billion zeny per character.
  • It should have been the main currency of the server due to its availability for every player. But due to the lack of demand, it is being deemed less important to nearly useless.

War Badges: Credits that can be obtained by playing Battlegrounds (BG) (typing @joinbg). It is account-bound (can be stored but not traded). Its significance are:
  • It can be exchanged for equipment that are mainly used by everyone. These include gears for PvP, PvP, WoE, and even essential for farming quest requirements. and basic needs such as Zeny and other supplies.
  • While War Badges are account-bound, the gears exchanged via War Badges can be traded. These items can be sold or traded to other players.
  • End-game players exchange War Badges for Umbral Tokens to gamble for a chance to get rare costumes. These can also be sold to other players.
  • It is the other option for newbies to build up their gears and progress, aside from Zeny farming.

Other Valuable Credits: These include Rental Tickets, Mini-Game Credits, War of Emperium Credits, Event Credits and Legacy Credits. In addition to DC, these can be exchanged via Item Redeeming Services NPC. Its significance are:
  • Rental Tickets: These are exchanged for gears that are similar to the ones exchanged using War Badges. However, gears exchanged using Rental Tickets cannot be traded and expire after a period of time. Hence, they are temporary gears available to everyone especially to newbies. They can be obtained by logging in once every 24-hours (3 Rental Tickets) or by randomly doing in-game activities (1 Rental Ticket).
  • Mini-Game Credits (MGC): These are exchanged for MGC exclusive equipment such as Robot Ears, and other consumable items such as Buffs and WoE related consumables. It can be traded and sold to other players, and can be obtained by playing Mini-Events (Board in amatsu 200 200).
  • War of Emperium Credits (WoE C): These can be exchanged for WoE C exclusive equipments. They can be obtained by successfully defending the Emperium and holding a Castle when War of Emperium ends.
  • Event Credits (EC): These can be exchanged for EC exclusive equipment. They can only be obtained from Game Master (GM) sponsored events or GM hosted events. They are rare in essence which are currently considered to be the most valuable credit in the game.
  • Legacy Credits (LC): These can be exchanged for LC exclusive items, which are only credited to people who have previously donated to the server prior to its official release in 2018. If you previously donated to the server, the account you used should have LC that can be redeemed using the NPC in amatsu.
With all these information, we can deduce the following:

  1. Donation Credits are essentially real money credits. Due to its nature, many believe that they are very important and would be very valuable in the future, which is why they are currently of high demand. An addition and update to the Donation Credit shop is being anticipated by players which is why they currently hoard DC.

Do recognize that even if people choose to donate to the server, it doesn't mean it's an easy way in. Many players in the server who choose to donate are adults who worked their bones to earn the money they donated.

  2. Adding a Zeny = DC NPC conversion would not be fair to those who donated to the server just to dictate DC prices. It is also not a proper resolution to aid in stabilizing the market. It is more of an imposition that dictates market prices, that is contrary to free market. The staff should not impose these and should not get directly involved in how the market goes, but there are means to aid in stabilizing the market without imposing something.

  3. There is currently minimal to nearly no involvement of the staff to the server. While there are events hosted and conducted here and then, there have been no improvements and updates in the server. There are also some of the staff who does not actively engage in talks with these players which result in players believing that there are no player-staff collaboration.

Of course, the staff may have their own reasons and also have their lives outside of game. Server management is a huge responsibility and must not be taken lightly. Aside from this, the people within the staff team have their own responsibilities and duties outside of the game.

  4. Zeny does not have much value. Adding an NPC with Zeny exclusive goodies would definitely contribute in creating value for Zeny. It has to be Zeny exclusive items that does not compromise the value of other credits, or it would have a impact on the prices of other credits which can be game changing. Also, the question for this is "What do we put in the Zeny NPC?". There are many considerations for this, but I'll have to wait for other people to comment on this to be fair.

  5. Battlegrounds is starting to decline because many of the people have geared up, which result in the War Badge items to be less relevant except for Umbral Tokens. Adding content to War Badges such as Glorious gears would definitely help in promoting BG, but these needs to be carefully studied for balancing concerns. Also, providing minimal rewards and incentives for players who perform well in BG should also boost participation and competition.

  6. With regards to other valuable credits, an initial boost to Rental Tickets received by new players would aid them in starting up. We can also provide 'temporary card effects' that are account bound to boost newbie progress. These newbies should feel that they really progress. Otherwise, after playing for a few days in the server, they will already feel so far behind and end up quitting.

An update to the content of other valuable credits may also provide more value for less significant credits, and more options for the more significant ones. These needs proper evaluation to avoid damaging the market.

  7. An additional valuable credits would prove effective in server participation. I already have various options for this and would publicize these on a more appropriate time. It needs to be discussed further with the staff for their consideration.

I hope all of these would be considered for your feedback and insights. Any corrections and further comments are much appreciated.

Again 100% discussion 0% Implementation. This has been an issue ever since.
Not all ideas can be implemented but based on experience most ideas that were suggested/discussed did not materialize.
Why? Nobody has the time to review and implement them. "That's a nice idea! but we will implement this instead and you must deal with it"
I dunno but they are having a hard time in listening to their players.
Hopefully they can fix the system

I Agree and believe to Vidar but Donators and Rich players in this server might be disagree. the GM's want to avoid "Pay to Win" system but its actually happening on their own decision. Server is dead because they don't know whats really happening because they don't play game as we do.
SAY NO TO PAY TO WIN SYSTEM? but why don't you guys remove DC? Farming of Zeny is useless those who donates are benefiting because they can buy all they want because players wants in DC because DC is more acceptable than Zeny in this server.
