What is a 2-3/2-4 job?

Swordsman changes directly into Knight, Rune Knight, Crusader, or Royal Guard. Magician into Wizard, Warlock, Sage, or Sorcerer, and so on. This means that 3rd jobs on bRO are effectively 2nd jobs. We wanted to keep the integrity of the original trans classes in order to keep them playable.

What does ‘rebalance’ mean?

We rebalanced third jobs to fit a 500/120 pre-renewal server. The strength, and in some cases, the effect of every 3rd skill, is different from official RO. You will get to experience the gameplay of the classes as they perhaps would have been without renewal mechanics existing.

3rd jobs do not inherit 2nd job skills, except in a few cases. This means that Rune Knights do not have access to Spear Boomerang, Bowling Bash, etc.

Rune Knight

The Rune Knight is designed to be a hybrid physical and magical attacker. The following skills have been changed.

  • Enchant Blade: This skill changes your attack element according to use skill level. Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, Ghost elements available.
  • Sonic Wave: Slam your weapon into the ground to unleash a shockwave that strikes an opponent at a distance. The farther away the target is, the less damage they take. 350% ATK.
  • Hundred Spear: Spear exclusive skill. A skill that strikes a single target rapidly in quick succession to deal high damage. 450% ATK.
  • Ignition Break: The Rune Knight makes their sword incredibly hot, triggering a magical explosion that deals damage to all targets nearby. Targets closer to the player receive higher damage. Deal 1.5x more damage if your weapon is endowed with fire element. 350% MATK.
  • Dragon’s Breath: Causes the dragon to breath incredibly hot fire, with a chance to cause burning which deals damage over time. The damage of dragon breath is dependant on the HP of the rider. 450% MATK.
  • Dragon’s Water Breath: 450% MATK.
  • Mount Dragon: Custom skill. Mounts or dismounts a dragon.
Rune Knight

Royal Guard

The Royal Guard is an offensive class with some utility skills. The following skills have been changed.

  • Cannon Spear: Damage formula not affected by STR. 100 + 40 * SkillLV ATK%.
  • Banishing Point: Damage formula not affectged by STR of Bash SkillLv. 100 + 30 * SkillLv ATK%.
  • Shield Press: Damage formula is 100 + SkillLv * 150 + VIT ATK%.
  • Pinpoint Attack: Damage formulai s 100 * SkillLv + AGI.
  • Shield Spell: Level 3 offers one of three random effects: (1) Break enemy armor at 5 * shield refine rate, (2) Add 3 DEF per 2 shield refine rate, (3) Heal 0.5% HP per shield refine rate.
  • Exceed Break: Lowered damage.
  • Over Brand: Lowered damage.
  • Banding: Adds Hard DEF instead of Soft DEF.
  • Moon Slasher: Lowered damage. Chance to sit is 0.3% * SkillLv.
  • Ray of Genesis: Lowered damage.
  • Earth Drive: Lowered damage.
  • Hesperus Lit: Lowered damage.
  • Inspiration: +10 all stats.
  • King’s Grace: Reovers 2% HP every 1 second.

  • White Imprison: Deal 10000 * SkillLv damage to caster when finishes casting. Success chance (10 * SkillLv + LUK / 30)%.
  • Frost Misty: MATK (100 + SkillLv * 50)%
  • Jack Frost: MATK (100 + SkillLv * 60)%
  • Marsh of Abyss: Increased duration.
  • Recognized Spell: Spells consume 75% more SP.
  • Radius: All stats – 3 per SkillLv.
  • Stasis: Increased duration. Chance to fail magic spell is 50%.
  • Drain Life: MATK (100 + SkillLv * 50)%
  • Crimson Rock: MATK (100 + SkillLv * 200)%. 1 + 0.2 * SkillLv second fixed cast time
  • Hell Inferno: MATK 125% Fire, MATK 500% Shadow
  • Comet: MATK (100 + SkillLv * 200)%, 2 + 0.2 * SkillLv second fixed cast time
  • Chain Lightning: MATK (SkillLv * 30)%

  • Intense Telekinesis: +20% MATK per lvl on Ghost element, +5% SP usage per lvl.

  • Aimed Bolt: ATK (100 + 30 * SkillLv)%, Bonus ATK when target is immobilised.
  • Electric Shocker: Lowered trap time.
  • Warg Strike: Similar power to Falcon Assault.
  • Warg Bite: Same power as Warg Strike.
  • Sensitive Keen: ATK (100 + 50 * SkillLv).
  • Camouflage: Drain (30 – SkillLv * 3) SP per second.
  • Magenta, Cobalt, Maize & Vendure Trap: Usable on players.
